Handphone

Nanti ko dh abeh SPM ko dpt la handphone.

Its been almost 7yrs, still nothg to show for all the effort. It was all for you guys, to make you happy and proud. All I wanted was some acknowledgement. To be rewarded like my peers. But no, I'm not like them I guess.

Someone got a car recently while the most of us watched on. Is it my fault sebab tak mintak and now sulking like a 3year old? Or was I too sensible knowing all I'll get is a backlash from the big man?

Ntah la, ini semua kerja setan nak bagi iri hati. I apologise. Maybe I wasn't fated to be spoilt. I am the eldest son afterall.

Ya Allah, panjangkanlah umur kedua ibu bapaku, adik beradik, sahabat handai dan seluruh muslimin muslinat. Kurniakanlah kami kejayaan dan bahagia dunia akhirat. Amin.

PS: i love you.

  1. Dude, chill. Orang-orang berjaya memang kena berkorban macam tu. Case in point: aku (hahaha). 10 AI SPM, best in Malaysia, happiest day of my life. Parents bought me dinner that night, u know apa? Roti canai.

Other people with lesser achievements dapat cars, handphones, trip around the world. I never complained, never saw it as a problem. In fact I don't agree at all with parents giving gifts for their children's efforts.

All my life, the only reward I seek is my parents being proud of me. And I know they were, as they watched me walking up the stage to receive my degree. My biggest satisfaction today is derived from giving my parents a portion of my salary every month & seeing the smile on their face.

Nonetheless, I don't know your predicament. I don't know who got the car (though I assume it's one of your siblings). But here's one other thing u probably should consider - things change with time. That could include our families' economic standing. Mungkin dulu parents kau couldn't afford to buy a new handphone for you, but now they can buy a car. We might not get to enjoy the benefits, but our adik-adik do - we still got to be thankful for the rahmat.

So yes, jangan iri hati, let's keep praying for the goods in this world & the Hereafter to be bestowed on our family. We shall receive a greater reward someday, insyaAllah.
